People learn best by doing, and horses are exceptional teachers. Equine Assisted Learning or "EAL" brings humans and horses together in a hands on experience to help people develop healthy life habits and/or increase their academic skills. It is most often offered in a group setting, but  can be tailored to individuals as well. EAL has a reputation for creating quick learning that "sticks."

Equine Assisted Learning Classes

EAL for Corporate Teams

Are you looking for a unique, fun and effective development experience for your work team? We can design a half or full day EAL program for your corporate team that is tailored to your organization's goals. 

Let us give your team the boost it needs in areas like:

  • Stress management
  • Work/Life Balance
  • Goal setting
  • Problem solving
  • Teamwork

We can also incorporate other restorative activities into your custom program such as yoga, massage therapy and nature hikes; all at our scenic and peaceful ranch in Western Colorado

HorseWise-Living Mindfully

 Come. Breathe. Be

This 4 session class will combine Equine Assisted Learning techniques with mindfulness practices to help you increase self awareness, decrease stress and tap into your own inner wisdom. 

No horse experience necessary. Novice and experienced horse persons alike will benefit from being fully present in each moment with our equine teachers.

Whether you are looking to make a change or just want to deepen your current circumstances, please join us for this supportive, transformative experience with our equine partners. 

Age 16 and up

cost: $200 per person

HorseWise - Youth

Come SEE what it's all about!


Join us for our HorseWise Youth class.  

This is 4 session class will utilize Equine Assisted Learning techniques to help you increase Self awareness, Explore and manage your Emotions, and develop Empathy so you can create relationships with family and friends that are based on kindness and understanding.  (Get it? SEE.)

No horse experience necessary. This is your place to have fun, interact with horses in a safe, positive environment and learn about you!

 Ages 10-15


cost: $200 per person

Don't quite see the right fit? We can create a custom class for any age group.

We have lots of EAL programs to choose from, or we can custom design an age appropriate EAL curricula to fit your group's goals.

 Bookcliff Equine has certified teachers and curriculum development experts  on staff who can create your customized programs.

*Minimum of 2 people is required for a custom class.

The Details

Cash or Check Payment

Please pre-register by calling, emailing or enrolling online. After we receive your contact information we will send you directions, required forms and other pertinent information via email or regular mail.

PayPal

In the "Notes" section of the checkout process, please include your contact information and class # that you are signing up for (example: HW1, HS1.) 

Deposit/Payment

A $50 deposit is required for all classes. We accept cash (in person), checks (in person or via mail) and credit cards (online booking only.) This deposit is refundable if you cancel your enrollment 48 hours in advance of the first class in the series. Please pay the remainder of your cost on or by the first class in the series.

Other Stuff

  • Feel free to bring your own snacks and water or other non-alcoholic beverages.
  • We do have an indoor meeting area, but all horse activities will take place in an outdoor setting so please dress for seasonal outdoor conditions.
  • We do not allow smoking on the premises.
